Allotment review 2025

Allotments were reviewed in June during weeks 24 and 25.

When reviewing the allotments, the following points of the allotment instructions were considered:

  • The allotment must be cultivated and maintained for the duration of the growing season. Cultivation must begin annually by the end of May.
  • Weeds must be removed before they flower. Trees and woody plants have to be removed.
  • Harmful invasive species: lupine, goldenrod, Himalayan balsam and Japanese knotweed have to be removed.
  • The ditch next to the allotment must be kept clear of vegetation, and the number pole must be visible.
  • In between the allotments there must be a pathway of 30 cm width per allotment, in total 60 cm in width of neatly maintained, non-cultivated area, also in the back of the allotment.

On the whole the allotments looked good. Areas of improvement were related to clearing away the invasive species, and keeping the pathways and ditch area neat.

We have sent notes for cultivators, if we saw issues related to the above points.

The next allotment review will be sometime in September, October.
